Ion Wave Technology’s software applications annually transact billions of dollars in procurement spend. Ion Wave Technologies, Inc. (IWT) was formed in May 2002 after purchasing the key assets of Way2Bid, another electronic procurement company. As part of Way2Bid, IWT’s founders were responsible for technology that facilitated the first Internet-based, interactive electronic bid events in August of 1997.

Since that time, we have successfully transitioned from PC-based software to what is now our ninth generation web-based enterprise application. In the decades we have been developing electronic procurement solutions, we have assembled a first class team of software developers and support staff, enabling us to deliver high quality software and support to the market.

Darren Henderson

Chief Executive Officer
& Company Co-Founder

As the Chief Executive Officer, Darren is responsible for IWT’s sales, growth, strategic initiatives, including hands-on involvement in customer implementations. IWT’s customer base includes local government, K-12 education, purchasing cooperatives, utilities, health care, and higher education. Darren’s prior experience includes more than twelve years of supply side experience within the retail and wholesale industry. Recognized as an industry pioneer he has presented workshops for the National Institute of Government Purchasing, the National Association of Educational Procurement, the National Purchasing Institute, the Association of Educational Service Agencies, and the SciQuest Next Level Conference for Higher Education. Darren has presented eSourcing workshops at regional procurement conferences in Missouri, New Mexico, Florida, New York, South Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, California, and Florida.

John Alexander

Chief Operations Officer
& Company Co-Founder

John Alexander is the company’s COO and co-founder. He directs the company’s product development and delivery strategies. Prior to co-founding IWT, John held a senior IT position at a public utility providing and supporting the utility’s infrastructure, systems, and security including procurement applications. He has experience in project management, technical systems design, implementation, and security. In addition to holding many industry certifications, John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University. IWT’s corporate offices are located in Springfield, Missouri.
